Would you like to change your mind?
Our minds are very powerful. What we think about affects our lives either positive or negative and becomes our reality.
Think about it? What have you got inside your mind? What do you think about?
A while ago, I thought about it and realised that I had a problem with my mind and I urgently needed to change it! The problem with my mind was that it was filled with negativity and it was seriously affecting my everyday life. I was desperate to get out of the rut I was in and I prayed and asked God to help me. God wants us to ask him to help us; it is good to admit to Him that we cannot do without Him, because we cannot. In Jesus we find all of our hope, all of our strength and when we give our lives to Him we can change. The Loving Father God always answers our cries for help. His Word is alive and true and in it we find all of the answers we seek. Hebrews 4:12-13 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
We have to realise that everything we think of is not good and not from God. Think of your thoughts as little seeds which grew into trees and now bear fruit. We think how we think because of the way we’ve been raised by our families, the knowledge we’ve gathered over the years from various sources -maybe with good intentions- and experiences that are affecting our lives either in a positive or negative way. We shouldn’t continue to allow these thought patterns and believes to affect our lives negatively. As Children of God; every single one of us were created by God for a given purpose and thinking wrong may be stopping us from doing just that and ultimately this might cause us to be ineffective at reaching out to the lost and miss the greatest goal God has ever given us. 2 Corinthians 10:5 “..take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ” To be able to know what we should be thinking to be obedient to Christ we should know what the Word says Christ Jesus is. The Bible is God’s written Word and we should take the time to read and study it as it is our guide to life and it is important for us to follow and do what it says. God says in His Word that we have to renew our minds. Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” James 1:22-25 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

Your life can’t change if you don’t change your mind. Ask God to help you and you will start to see the difference. I have tried to change myself, but I was unsuccessful. When I became desperate and humble and realised I couldn’t, I asked God to help me change and He did and He is still. During this year I have taken the time to read some books by Joyce Meyer and have learnt a lot from her inspirational teaching. God has done an amazing work of change in her and now she can help others who struggle with enjoying everyday life. I would like to leave you with this scripture and really pray that God will show you where you need to make some changes and think and act differently.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
