Jesus cares about little girls and their pink ballet shoes
June 9, 2011
I would like to share a testimony with you of how real and true our Lord Jesus is. God is such a great and caring Father and He is part of our everyday life! Do you realise; Jesus cares about little girls and their little pink ballet shoes..
Three weeks ago, we got ready to go to Isabel’s Kindy Ballet Class and we couldn’t find her little ballet shoes anywhere! I realised we probably forgot or dropped them after class the previous week and so I was off to class with a heartsore little girl, hoping her little ballet shoes would be waiting for us on arrival. After first looking in the ‘lost and found’ box and not finding them, Isabel was now sadly crying. I held her hand whilst walking with her into her class, tears rolling down her cheeks as she looked down at her pink sport shoes and I’m doing my best to reassure her that it would be okay to dance with them today, only until we find her ballet shoes. While waiting for her with Stella, I was thinking about my usual habit of taking her ballet shoes off after class and putting them in the bottom of the pram. Either I left them standing on the floor or they dropped to the tar road in the parking area when I placed the pram in the boot of the car. Or I just misplaced them and they were still somewhere at home. We went home to look for them.
The next week came and as we were unsuccessful in finding the ballet shoes at home, I phoned the ballet school to ask them whether the little shoes where handed in? No. I decided that I would ask every mum at the next class to make sure before going to buy new shoes. Little pink leather ballet shoes are expensive.
During our habitual morning prayer time, Isabel and I asked Lord Jesus to please help us find her ballet shoes or have someone give them back to us. We were then off to class with me promising that I will buy new ballet shoes if we didn’t find them. I again asked every mum, but none of them found or saw them left behind. I then also took the time to look through the box of second hand ballet shoes, but none of them were the right size for Isabel. So after class, Isabel, Stella and I were off to the shop, in the rain, to fit and buy new ballet shoes. The friendly shop lady fitted new shoes, we paid and we left with satisfied smiles.
We were home for only 1 hour when the phone rang. God had answered our morning prayer! It was a lady from the ballet school telling me that Isabel’s shoes were found two weeks ago lying in the parking area. (must’ve fallen when I placed the pram in the boot:) The kind lady said she would put them aside until next week and said that the shop would have no problem refunding and taking back the new pair I just bought. Isabel was very happy that someone found her ballet shoes and that Jesus answered our prayer!!
What a wonderful lesson for Isabel; Jesus hears our prayers and He cares about little girls and their ballet shoes! Today when we woke up, we thanked God again and got ready for ballet class. Isabel excitingly remembered that she was getting her ballet shoes back today.. And when we arrived at the ballet school, her little pink shoes were put there for her in a brown paper bag with her name on, ISABEL’s.. and she tore it open and put them on, with a very big happy smile!
Thank you, Jesus, You are Awesome! You care about little girls and their pink ballet shoes!
